Crazy Feet Breakfast - 10 March 2018

The theme for Saturday’s function was: “Crazy Feet”. In preparation for winter, we thought a shoe collection drive for the over 1 000, most orphaned children supported by Child Welfare South Africa, Roodepoort would be a great idea. A lot of the time, shoes are considered as a luxury item and hence never added to the list of essential goods. We decided that this would be a great endeavor – not only to give the kids a pair of shoes but also to motivate them to stay grounded and be prepared to face another day, regardless of the challenges that that day may bring. The message, is simple – “take one step at a time, even if it is one step a day – just remember to keep moving forward”. This theme extends itself to our amazing team of 25 social workers and auxiliary workers at Child Welfare South Africa, Roodepoort. Every day, this team goes out into the communities, with a smile on their faces; helping, supporting and aiding orphaned, sick, abused and abandoned children. And sometimes they themselves face the onslaught of verbal backlash and abuse. This team is quick to think on their feet, stand up in support of the vulnerable in the community, and act speedily and responsively to those in need. All of which ties back to our theme: Crazy Feet – saving, protecting and supporting the vulnerable from this crazy world.

Child Welfare South Africa, Roodepoort would like to extend our deepest and sincerest gratitude to each and everyone of you for your magnanimous support and donations. By your charitable giving, you have helped to reignite hope in the lives of the children we aim to serve.
